Details about each ministry are below:
“Ministries” is just our way of saying “opportunities to serve God through serving others”. Our diverse fellowship is reflected in our diversity of ministry offerings. There’s definitely a place for you in one or more of these ministries. Thank you for taking a look at what we offer and if you have any questions, our ministry leaders would love to hear from you.
The Welcome Center Team provides the first smiles and cheerful greetings you see and hear as you walk through the doors of CCNN. They keep you in the know with helpful information and direction about CCNN church life and events.
Ministry Leader Michelle Carroll
The A/V Ministry helps set up, run, and tear down sound, lighting, and video production equipment throughout CCNN. Service opportunities include complex technical responsibilities but also the less complex tasks like displaying computer media (lyrics, scriptures, etc.) to help the congregation worship together. Experts and novices are encouraged to inquire.

The Kidz Bible Adventure Children’s Ministry serves the youngest congregation of CCNN, from infants to 5th graders. Not only are we looking for those who desire to teach our youngsters but also greeters to help check in families, escorts to help get the little ones from place to place, or watchful eyes to keep track of speedy crawlers.

The IGNITE High School Ministry serves youth in grades 9-12. We welcome those who have a desire to teach the youth, help facilitate small groups, or simply assist with welcoming and administration.

The FUEL Middle School Ministry serves youth in grades 6-8. We welcome those who have a desire to teach the youth, help facilitate small groups, or simply assist with welcoming and administration.

The Security Ministry helps provide a safe and secure worship environment before, during, and after services so that the teaching of God’s word may go on without distraction.
Ministry Leader Duke Simmons
The Prayer Ministry serves in the background, seeking God on behalf of the church during and outside of church services. It is the spiritual power center of CCNN.
Ministry Leader Bobbie Hawkins
The Parking Lot Ministry serves the people who attend CCNN by directing traffic flow and vehicle parking.
Ministry Leader Ron Ellis
The Worship Ministry at CCNN leads the congregation in expressing love and devotion to God through music. Gifted singers and musicians with a heart to serve the Lord are encouraged to inquire.
Ministry Leader Pastor Michael Banks
The Usher Ministry assists those attending CCNN people find their seats, answer questions, remove distractions, pass out or collect materials and, of course, offer a friendly smile and a warm handshake.
Ministry Leader Keith Hawkins
The Special Events Team assists with the setup and breakdown of church décor for special events and seasons. This Team also assists with aspects of serving during these events.

The Cleaning & Facilities Team serves CCNN by ensuring a safe and tidy environment by cleaning and sanitizing the church campus as well as performing minor repairs where needed.
Ministry Leader Brandon Delk
Small group leaders at CCNN need only have a simple love for God’s word and ability to facilitate discussion to help members of CCNN grow in community. If you have or desire to develop these skills, please inquire.

The Virtual Welcome Team helps facilitate a warm and inviting atmosphere for those attending CCNN online. Serving in this ministry requires adequate computer skills and a warm spirit that communicates through a computer screen.

This collection of ministries serves the homeless, provides resources for underprivileged youth and families, and leads the monthly Street Evangelism walk to share the gospel of Jesus outside the walls of the church.

During our Sunday morning and Wednesday night services, we teach the Word of God, verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter, and book-by-book, to every age group.
Adults (18 yrs. and older) can worship and hear God’s Word in our Worship Center as well as in our café and Gathering Place. Both offer wireless internet connectivity and our café offers a menu of beverage and snack items. Youth enjoy age-appropriate lessons in Kidz Bible Adventure (KBA) (for infants-5th Graders), FUEL (for 6th-8th Graders) and IGNITE (for 9th-12th Graders), where experienced and loving teachers understand how to instill the Word of God on each child’s level of understanding.Calvary Connections is an informative and interactive class designed for those who are new to Calvary Chapel Newport News and have decided to make CCNN their church home.

Groups
It is How We Connect
Growth happens in groups. Small Groups create an environment apart from our normal Sunday and Wednesday services. They are a great way to meet new people as well as learn and share our experiences in our walk with God. So, step out in faith and contact Pastor Kevin below and lets “Do life together".

Feel the nudge to host or lead a group? Do you love opening your home to guests? Are you gifted in facilitating conversation? As a Small Group Leader, you help guide the group through discussion questions based on Sunday messages.

Want to get involved but not sure where to begin? We always have volunteer opportunities available! Volunteering is a great way to serve the Lord and get to know others at Cornerstone. Getting involved as a volunteer provides an opportunity to use your gifts and help build up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11–13). Check out some current opportunities below and get involved.

As a volunteer on the Calvary Chapel Audio Visual team, you will have the opportunity to facilitate the church’s mission by identifying and creatively fulfilling the technical needs of diverse ministries. In the areas of live sound, lighting, running cameras, and lyrics for various church services and events.
We have volunteer opportunities at our services on Sunday morning to serve as a cashier, prepare or serve a meal, set-up or break-down.
From changing diapers to changing lives, feeding babies a bottle to feeding young minds the Word of God. Come alongside the little ones who are just beginning to explore the world God created! Join us in serving these little ones (and their parents!) and experience the joy that flows from sharing your love, and the love of our Savior, with a child.
Our Refuge Ministry provides a safe place where young adults, ages 18-30ish, can gather and encourage each other in their walk with the Lord. This co-ed ministry is designed to lead young adults in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ where the Word is Relevant, Relational, and Real. There are opportunities to serve as ushers, greeters, and more.
Set-up and breakdown
Greeters to assist with check-in and warmly welcome participantsJoin the team to "Set-up the house for Jesus!" Volunteers to set up chairs, tables, special props, and supplies for any of the many events, classes, and bible studies held on our campus daily. Must be Age 16+
